Tomás León

La Fonoteca Nacional rinde un homenaje sonoro al compositor y pianista mexicano Tomás León (1826-1893), a 190 años de nacimiento.

Reconocido por ser uno de los fundadores del Conservatorio Nacional de Música y como uno de los jurados para elegir la música del Himno Nacional Mexicano, el virtuosismo de León fue visible desde que comenzó a tocar el órgano a los 14 años.

Para recordarlo, te compartimos el primer movimiento de una de sus composiciones más destacadas, Cuatro Danzas Habaneras, en la interpretación de la extraordinaria pianista María Teresa Frenk.
