Arq. José Villagrán García

La Fonoteca Nacional recuerda al reconocido arquitecto mexicano José Villagrán García, a 115 años de su nacimiento.

Ganador del Premio Nacional de Ciencias y Artes en 1968, el Arq. Villagrán fue director de la Escuela Nacional de Arquitectura (1933-1935) y presidente de la Sociedad de Arquitectos Mexicanos (1926-1927). Entre su obra arquitectónica se distinguen, en la Ciudad de México, el Centro Universitario México, el Hospital Infantil, la capilla de la Santa Cruz en San Ángel, entre otros.

Te compartimos un audio en el que se escucha, entre otros, al Arq. Villagrán en la conferencia “Le Corbusier en 1923”, en la que comparte su opinión sobre la obra escrita y construida de este multifacético personaje. También de su opinión sobre el ambiente cultural que vivía México en 1923, cuando se conocieron las ideas del arquitecto francés.
