Chico O'Farril

El 28 de octubre de 1921, nace en la Habana, Cuba, el célebre trompetista y director de orquesta Arturo Chico O’Farrill, quien fuera un pionero del jazz afrocubano y un extenso conocedor de la ferocidad rítmica de la música caribeña.

Escuchemos su famosa “Suite Azteca, compuesta en México y estrenada en el majestuoso Palacio de Bellas Artes en 1962. Escuchemos la versión del último disco de O’Farrill “Carambola”, en la interpretación de la Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra.
